CRAZY COOL GREY FRENZY FOR KICKSMAS
December 23, 2010, was one of the most anticipated days of the Christmas season for "sneakerheads" and air jordan lovers everywhere, as Nike's Air Jordan Retro 11's or better known as the "Cool Greys" were released and in shoe stores everywhere. Shoe stores all over the nation were opened hours early for the big anticipated crowds at 6AM. The exact shoe that famous basketball phenom Michael Jordan wore in his last and final NBA game, and only released for sale once before in 2001, created absolute madness as people were going crazy trying to get them in their possession. At Towneast Mall in Dallas, TX. the crowd of 500 people were pepper sprayed by the police to control the disorderly crowd. People gathered and camped out for the shoes even the day before, aiming to be the first in line. These exclusive sneakers are even costing $500 on Ebay. Were these shoes really worth the chaos and trouble?
